BROUSSARD — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will close Louisiana 182, between U.S. 90 and Louisiana 96 to motorists from 8 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday.

This closure is necessary for bridge construction.

All construction activities are weather dependent, and may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather.

The work is being done as part of the Geaux South program, which involves widening U.S. 90 to six lanes along the short stretch between Ambassador Caffery extension and Albertson Parkway. It also includes a bridge over Albertson Parkway, stretching over the railroad along Louisiana 182. The $57.1 million project is expected to be completed in mid-2017.
