The Cajun Kiwanis Club of New Iberia presented its annual Club Scholarship Award to Keily Joseph, Fallon McCellard and William Melancon May 10 during the Senior Award Night at New Iberia Senior High School.

Joseph, McCellard and Melancon were each awarded $100 scholarships for their outstanding citizenship and being excellent students.

Joseph maintained a 4.0 grade point average and was captain of the basketball and volleyball teams as well as making contributions to the Humane Society, SNAP shelter and church youth programs.

McCellard is planning to attend Xavier University to study Pre Med Biology, focusing on Pediatrics and has been selected to be a part of Xavier’s Biomedical Honors Corps.

Melancon also maintained a 4.0 GPA, was section leader in the NISH band and made contributions as an Eagle Scouts in community projects such as building uniform cabinets for the NISH
