Brown — Beals

Starkeyona Brown and Alvin Beals were married Saturday, July 2, 2016, at B&M Pavillion and Event Center in Baldwin. The bride is the daughter of LouWanda Hillard Matthews and Matthews Jean Gibson of New Iberia. The groom is the son of Barbara Kurt Dennis of New Iberia and the late Robert Butler.

The Rev. Eric Fondal officiated the 6 p.m. candlelight ceremony.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a floor length multi-layered full skirt tulle gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline bodice accented with rhinestones and sequins.

For her headpiece, she wore a rhinestone comb securing her hair on one side.

She carried a bouquet of cascading white and red open roses accented with rhinestones, pearls and silver ribbon.

Serving as matron of honor was Susie Johnson and as maid of honor was Mary Rubin. Bridesmaids were Darcina Touriac, Ursula Lewis, Brandie Mallery, Annika Depass, Rayvin Walker, Marquita Shearron, Tiffany Drexler, Shanreca Eudene and A’Layjah Welch. Flower girls were Tra’Kelia Adams and Ava Brown, niece of the bride. Ring bearer was Don Jones III.

Serving as best men were Alfred Beals and Elijah Derouen. Groomsmen were Anthony Ford, Corey Kimble, Tormicheal Provost, Quan Charles, James Johnson, LaDontae Brown, Jay’ven Walker and Don Jones Jr.

Courtney Clarkston and Brandon Clarkston served as ushers.

A reception for family and friends was held at B&M Pavillion and Event Center in Baldwin.

Following a wedding trip to Panama City, Florida, the couple will reside in Jeanerette.
