A lawyer from New York runs a stop sign in Cajun country and gets pulled over by Boudreaux, a Cajun cop.
He thinks that he is smarter than the cop because he is a lawyer from New York and is certain that he has a better education then any Cajun cop. He decides to prove this to himself and have some fun at the Boudreaux’s expense!
Boudreaux says, License and registration, please.”
New York Lawyer says, “What for?”
Boudreaux. The Cajun cop says, “Ye didn’t come to a complete stop at de stop sign.”
The New York Lawyer says, “I slowed down, and no one was coming.”
Boudreaux says, “Ya still didn’t come to a complete stop. License and registration, please.”
The Lawyer says, “What’s the difference?”
Boudreaux tole him, “The difference is, ya haven’t come to complete stop, Dats de law. License and registration, please!”
The Lawyer says, “If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and stop, I’ll give you my license and registration and you give me the ticket. If not, you let me go and don’t give me the ticket.”
Boudreaux says, “Mais dat sounds good to me. Get out of your vehicle, sir.”
The Lawyer exits his vehicle.
Boudreaux takes out his baton and starts beating the living stuffing’s out of the lawyer and says, “Do ya want me to stop, or just slow down eh?”
