COTEAU—A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Lucille “Lula” Bourque, 76, on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau at 1 p.m. with Fr. Brian Harrington officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.

Visitation will begin at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Friday, August 5, 2016, at 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 8 a.m. until the service time.

Mrs. Bourque passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016, at 3:15 p.m. at Lafayette General Hospital.

Lucille was born in New Iberia to Armance and Alida Viator Romero on December 27, 1939, and lived in the New Iberia and Coteau area all her life.

Lucille enjoyed spending her time playing boureé with her friends, going to the casino, listening and dancing to Cajun French music, the horse races and most of all she enjoyed cooking large Sunday lunches for her family.

Left to cherish Lucille’s memory are her children Bonnie B. Melancon of Coteau, Rebecca B. Frederick of New Iberia, Tommy Bourque and wife, Sandra, of Kaplan, Cynthia Bourque of Duson, Lisa B. Segura and husband, Todd, of Erath, Janet Bourque of New Iberia and Tracie Romero and husband, Adam, of Youngsville; stepson Kevin Mautrin and wife, Tricia, of Youngsville; sisters Shirley Viator and Rita Menard; her brother Olan Romero; twenty-two grand children; forty-one great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Lucille is preceded in death by Raymond Bourque and spouse, Anatole Mautrin; her parents, Armance and Alida Viator Romero; brother A. D. Romero; and her sister Lillian Norris.

Serving as pallbearers will be T.J. Segura, Blake Segura, Coty Melancon, Chase Melancon, Kevin Mautrin, D.J. Frederick, Derek Bourque, Nick Gary and Tommy Bourque.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Todd Segura and Adam Romero.
