In the month of September, Sadie Hebert went to Loreauville High school’s guidance counselor with a determined plan to create a new club. This new club was going to spread optimism, it was going to show that lives matter and being optimistic is a fun and creative way to go about life.

The school’s mission statement is “Let’s be prepared, have self control and show respect in order to achieve academic excellece.”

The Helping Hands club was then formed with the help from Mrs. Andrea Reed, a guidance counselor at Loreauville. During their last meeting the group talked about ways to create and give out smiles before deciding on making posters to post around school. Approximately 250 posters were ultimately displayed around campus in different colors, sizes and designs.

The officers for the club are Sadie Hebert, president, Tyrin Nora, vice president, Brittany Haycock, secretary, Jahraya Jeanlouis, treasurer, and reporter Emma Chambers, 8th grade student of the year for 2015-2016.
