Normie (Nora) Guillory Auzenne

Normie (Nora) Guillory Auzenne, born May 31, 1935, in Swords, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 17, 2016, after a short battle with her health.

She is preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 57 years, Jerald Paul Auzenne Sr.; parents Mathias and Ophelia Guillory; and three brothers, Ivan Guillory, Onezime Guillory, and Calvin Guillory.

Normie will be greatly missed by her children, Karen Lemelle and husband Kenneth, Cheryl Olivier and husband Stephon, Pamela Boutte and husband Michael Sr., Jerald Auzenne Jr. and wife Donna, and Byron Auzenne and wife Angeline; brother Julian Morris Guillory; 15 grandchildren, Tenile, Christina, Kenneth Jr., DJ, Nicolas and Noah Lemelle, Ryan and Kyle Olivier, Mike Jr. and Haleigh Boutte, Kirsten and Payton Auzenne, and Sarah, Ethan, and Remmi Auzenne; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Normie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed with Ross Mortuary in Houston for 25 years. As a child, Normie attended St. Landry School in Mallet, The Guillory School in Swords, and enjoyed playing the piano at St. Ann Catholic Church. Normie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband, the true love of her life Jerald Auzenne Sr. as well as with her family preparing a great Cajun meal. Normie was an excellent Cajun chef and everyone looked forward to any meal prepared by her.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2016, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, 4000 Sumpter St., Houston,  where Normie has been a very active parishioner since relocating to Houston in 1955.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7248 Highway 190, Mallet. Rosary will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, 521 Frilot Cove Road, Frilot Cove. A Repast meal will follow in the St. Ann’s Community Center.
