Joseph Fields

The Reverend Joseph Fields, 91, a resident of Centerville and native of Columbus, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 7:45 a.m. at his residence.

Reverend Fields will lie in state for public visitation on Friday, December 9, 2016, at the St. Luke Baptist Church in Patterson from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday December 10, 2016, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life beginning at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church, 321 Center Street New Iberia, 70560. Burial will follow funeral services in the Franklin Cemetery in Franklin. 

Memories of this great minister, preacher, pastor, husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend will forever remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Rosa Lee Fields of Centerville; his devoted children including his four sons, Wilfred Fields of Garden City, Vernon Fields and his wife Betty of Belle Rose, and Lionel Fields and Michael Fields, both of Galveston, Texas; four daughters, Shelia Jones and her husband Larry of Verdunville, Debra Thomas and her husband Ricky of Centerville, Cynthia Fleming and her husband Wallace Jr. of Franklin and Pamela Randle and her husband Pastor Allen R. Randle Sr. of Garden City; one daughter-in-law, Sylvia Fields of Patterson; 16 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Reverend Fields was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Harold Fields; two sons, Melvin Fields and Harold Fields; a daughter, Brenda F. Ely and one sister, Annie Mae Cox.
