Wassell — Genovese

Rebecca Mari Wassell and Anthony Richard Genovese Jr. were married Saturday, Dec. 17, 2017, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Iberia. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Lamar Beyt III of New Iberia and Dr. and Mrs. William Moore Wassell Sr. of New Iberia. The groom is the son of Mrs. Karen Fulton Genovese of Arabi and the late Anthony Richard Genovese Sr.

The Rev. Edward Degeyter officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony.

Escorted by her father and stepfather, the bride wore an ivory-colored strapless gown with a natural waist line and chapel train. Over the gown she wore an off the shoulder custom lace bolero.

For her headpiece, she wore a lace-trimmed tulle cathedral veil.

She carried a bouquet of blush roses, white hydrangeas, baby’s breath and greenery.

Serving as matron of honor was Jennifer Leah Mead. Bridesmaids were Emily Shea, Allison Scurria, Maria Genovese, Kathy Reboul and Julie Perrien. Flower girl was Aniston Cooper. Ring bearer was Harvey Reboul.

Serving as best man was Travis James Donnelly. Groomsmen were William Wassell Jr., Chip Beyt, Vincent Genovese, Justin Genovese, Jeff Reboul and Patrick Perrien.

Kyle Fulton and Reese Satterlee served as ushers.

A reception for family and friends was held at Maison De Tours in St. Martinville.

Following a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple will reside in Chalmette.
