Esther “Sissy” Lohr Hart, 80, of Aurora, Colorado, died on Friday, January 20, 2017, at her daughter’s residence.
Mrs. Hart was born August 21, 1936, in New Iberia and was a 46-year resident of Gretna. She moved to New Iberia in 2006, and then to Aurora, Colorado, in 2012. She was loved and adored by the “Hero Drive Children.” The neighborhood children were always welcomed into her home. She also had a passion for quilting, sewing, crafts and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Randall Hart; son Daniel “Robbie” Hart; parents, Roy and Myrtle Lohr; brothers William, Robert, Guy and Lloyd Lohr; and daughter-in-law Kathy Hart.
Mrs. Hart is survived by her children Michael Hart and wife Moon of Aurora, Colorado, Doyle Hart of New Iberia, Sandra “Sandy” Ackerley and husband James “Bill” of Aurora, Colorado, Steven Hart of Lafitte and Garland Hart and wife Suzanne of LaGrange, Texas; brother David Lohr of Lake Charles; sister Ruth Viator of New Iberia; sisters-in-law Jenores Lohr, Wanda Hinson and husband Marty Ella Vee Barley and Queva Camp; six grandsons; seven granddaughters; 10 great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend David Free will officiate. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continue on Friday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
