Emily Rebecca Shea and Samuel Schwan Hanagriff were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony during a nuptial mass at St. Peter’s Church in New Iberia, Louisiana, on Friday, January 27th, 2017. The Reverend Monsignor Keith Joseph DeRouen officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony. Con-celebrants were the Reverend Mark Derise, the Reverend O’Neil Anthony Landry and the Reverend William Paul Ruskoski.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stewart Shea III, of New Iberia, Louisiana. Mrs. Shea is the former Rebecca Gerami of Lafayette, Louisiana. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles William Hanagriff, Jr., of Centerville, Louisiana. Mrs. Hanagriff is the former Josie Randazzo of Franklin, Louisiana.
Emily is the granddaughter of Mrs. Merry Joy Gerami and the late Mr. Frank Charles Gerami, Sr., of Lafayette, Louisiana, and the late Mrs. Barbara Beyt Shea Jones and the late Mr. Edward Stewart “Buddy” Shea, Jr., of New Iberia, Louisiana.
Samuel is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore Randazzo, Jr., of Franklin, Louisiana and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles William Hanagriff, Sr., of Centerville, Louisiana.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a candlelight white Italian mikado silk gown in an A-line silhouette from Pronovias Atelier. The lustrous subtle sheen of the fabric enriched the gown’s structured and refined sophistication. The sleeveless bodice featured an elegant bateau neckline and a thin, banded waistline. The back bodice was accented with a crossover neckline and a sheer illusion inset to the waist. The full A-line skirt flowed into a rounded chapel length train. She wore a circular tiered, Cathedral length veil of white English silk illusion with a hand rolled hem that was made by her maternal grandmother and worn by her mother, aunt, cousin and sister-in-law for their weddings. For her bouquet, the bride carried lily of the valley and mini white Calla lilies, hand-tied and finished with an ivory silk satin ribbon. Tucked in her bouquet was a rosary belonging to her maternal grandmother and she wore diamond solitaire stud earrings belonging to her paternal grandmother.
The bride was attended by her matrons of honor Madeline Dietlein Laperouse, friend of the bride, and Amanda Hammon Shea, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Laura MacDiarmid Ferrell, friend of the bride, Rebecca Wassell Genovese, friend of the bride, Tracy Turcotte Hanagriff, sister-in-law of the groom, Jaimie Leigh Molbert, cousin of the bride, Mary Elizabeth Neustrom, friend of the bride, Clare Svendson Roubion, cousin of the bride, Karleigh Crochet Sigur, friend of the bride, Katheryne Smith Guidry, cousin of the bride, Margaret Helen Smith, cousin of the bride, Genee Lanza Theriot, friend of the bride and Allison Lozon Wilder, friend of the bride. Serving as flower girl was Adely Noel Sullivan, niece of the groom.
Charles William Hanagriff III, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Robert LeBreton Allain III, Rickey Paul Bourque II, William Kyle Ferrell, Corey Scott Fuhrer, Brenden James Gravois, Wilson Elie Judice, Jean Paul Lamaison, Travis John Martin, Walter James Senette III, Charles Louis Shea, Ryan Christopher Sigur, all friends of the groom and Edward Scott Shea, brother of the bride.
Serving as ushers were Drew Daniel Dorschner, friend of the bride, Korey Philip Kimball, Jonathon Thomas Smith and Henry Edward Zehner, all cousins of the bride.
Edward Scott Shea II, nephew of the bride served as ring bearer.
Gift bearers were Lawrence Abbott, godfather of the groom, Linda Abbott, godmother of the groom and Frank Charles Gerami II, godfather of the bride. Scripture readers were; Elizabeth Dykes Beter, cousin of the groom and Caroline Rebecca Smith cousin of the bride. Serving as Extraordinary Ministers were Dona Lopez Dietlein, friend of the family of the bride, and Katheryne Joy Gerami, aunt of the bride. Program attendants were Caitlin Elizabeth Smith, Courtney Mills Svendson, Shea Michelle Svendson and Anna Kathleen Zehner, all cousins of the bride.
Under the direction of Ben LeBleu, Director of Sacred Music for St. Peter’s Church, musicians included; Lauren Baker, 1st Violinist, Thomas Benoit, 2nd Violinist, Troy Breaux, Timpanist, Jay Broussard, Vocalist, Ryan Dufrene, 2nd Trumpeter, Will Green, 1st Trumpeter, Emma Guidry, Cellist, Karen Guidry, Organist and Jacqueline McCarthy, Vocalist.
On the Thursday evening before the wedding, the family of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Gouguenheim in New Iberia, Louisiana. Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride, featuring entertainment by the Compozitionz Band. After returning from a honeymoon to the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Franklin, Louisiana.
