Danny Grissaffe loves to work on classic cars. His interest is not just restoring them to factory quality. At times his choices make the car run like he wants it to run. His collection includes the white Ford Mustang, but old blue is gone.

Remember the days of cruisin’ with your favorite girl, or guy, in a car that is now a classic? Take a ride down memory lane by attending the Cruisin’ Cajun Country’s open car show to be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 11 at the Lowe’s parking lot at 2816 Louisiana 14 in New Iberia.

All proceeds will benefit Project Graduation 2017, a cooperative effort of Catholic High School, New Iberia Senior High, Loreauville High School and Westgate High School parents.

Judging starts at 12:30 p.m. with trophies awarded to the top 20 at 2 p.m. Awards include Best Classic, Best Truck, Best Engine, Best Interior, Students Choice and Best of Show.

There will be a raffle and jambalaya, drinks and sweets vendors. This event is free to the public.

There is a registration fee of $25 for those participating in the car show with the first 60 registered receiving ditty bags.
