Billie Joy Burley

Billie Joy Broussard Burley, age 88, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at Iberia Medical Center. Mrs. Burley was a resident of Metairie for 36 years, but more recently had resided in New Iberia for the last eight years. She was a retired school teacher, teaching at Comeaux High School in Lafayette and East Jefferson High School in Metairie for 20 years.

Mrs. Burley was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles Burley, and her parents: Gaston J Broussard and Yvonne Simoneaux. Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Park of Dallas, Texas, and Rachel Arnold of Gonzales, and two sons, Charles Dean Burley of New Iberia, and Neil Burley of Austin, Texas; a sister, Patsy Olivier-Clesi of Kenner; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family for visitation on Friday, March 17, 2017, from 2-3 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, immediately followed by a brief gravesite service at All Saints Mausoleum, adjacent to the funeral home.
