Of no less importance to the people and organizations up for recognition of their efforts to build community and public awareness of issues are two elections online that need your vote.
The New Acadia Project/Projet Nouvelle Acadie’s video has been accepted as a contestant in USA Today’s “A Community Thrives” initiative in the category of “Arts & Culture.” The videos receiving the most votes, will be eligible for grants in each category, two for $50,000 and one for $100,000. Watch the video and vote for the New Acadia Project. The voting period is through May 12 at act.usatoday.com.
As an active volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Cynthia Elmer is one of three candidates to win $3,000 benefiting her organization. Vote for her at Acadianahero.com during the month of April.
