Mrs. Brian Manuel Gilcrease

Elizabeth Annsley Laperouse and Dr. Brian Manuel Gilcrease were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at St. Anne Catholic Church in Houston Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the evening. The Nuptial Mass was officiated by Rev. Alvin Sinasac, Pastor of St. Anne Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Thomas Laperouse of Lafayette. Mrs. Laperouse is the former Betty Ann Broussard of New Iberia. The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Broussard Sr. and Mrs. Valery Laperouse Jr. of New Iberia and the late Valery Laperouse Jr.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Texas in Houston achieving her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013. She is currently practicing at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Gilcrease of Houston. He is the grandson of Mrs. Helen Gilcrease of Tulsa, Oklahoma and the late Donald Gilcrease and Señor Victor Manuel Garcia Palomino and Señorita Rosa Maria Ortiz de Garcia of Zacatecas, Mexico.

Brian is a 2006 graduate of St. John School and a 2010 graduate of Rice University in Houston where he received a Bachelor of Cognitive Science. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He is currently completing his medical residency at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Escorted by her father, the bride chose a designer gown by Martina Liana. The sleeveless gown featured a sweetheart bodice with symmetrical pleats and rushing at the neckline and bust. A beautiful Silhouette Deluxe Dupioni design with silk covered buttons graced the mid-back and down the chapel train.

She wore a cathedral lace veil with a scalloped edge etched with a dramatic French scroll lace pattern.

Mrs. Gilcrease carried a white and blush-colored bouquet of garden roses which were adorned with a rosary she received for her Frist Communion from her maternal grandmother.

The bride was attended by her maid of honor, Ashley Meredith Laperouse, sister of the bride. Following in procession were bridesmaids Kristy Lynn Hamilton, Leslie Olivier Nielsen, Julia Palmintier Domino, Catherine Claire Beaullieu, Noelle Mcbride Otero and Madeline Elizabeth Little, all friends of the bride and Rosa Victoria Gilcrease-Garcia, sister of the groom.

Dr. Michael Gilcrease, father of the groom, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Wilbur Wang, Michael Andrew Sims, Tyler Bolton Kruse, Richard Jacob Fantus and Derek Thomas Bernstein, all friends of the groom and Bradford Thomas Laperouse, brother of the bride. Ushers were David Kim and Daniel Ryder Ludwig, friends of the groom.

The bride’s house party included Catherine Miley Dauterive, Sydnee Hope Lucas, Lana Rochelle Smith, friends of the bride and Elise Barousse Guidry, cousin of the bride.

Lectors were Eugene Debarle Broussard Jr., godfather and uncle of the bride, Christopher Gilcrease, uncle of the groom and Madeline Nichole Watkins, friend of the bride. Serving as Eucharist Minister was Myra Laperouse Broussard, godmother and aunt of the bride. Serving as gift bearers were Kristie Ann Broussard, Corinne Adrienne Cordell, Madeline Leah Cordell and Heather Laperouse Speizman, cousins of the bride. Musicians were organist and music director Matt McCue, trumpeter Tom Tillotson, cantors Kelly Bruggen, Mark Thomas and the St. Anne String Quartet.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Ousies’ Table. The bride’s great-grandmother’s wedding gown lace embellished the centerpiece dollies.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Junior League of Houston. The Dry Water Band entertained guests and led the second line finale escorting the bride and groom’s departure. After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, Dr. and Mrs. Gilcrease will reside in St. Louis, Missouri.
