“The names of women who do great things could be endless, simply because women usually do things quietly.” This is what a friend said to me before sending in her nominations for Women Making A Difference. It stuck with me the entire time I was working on this section. While I was interviewing each of the honorees there was a point when they’d lean in and whisper, “I’d rather this part not go in the article.” This information was usually the most telling about how truly giving and caring they are. Their modesty doesn’t allow them to divulge all of the wonderful things they do. But what they did share is going to inspire you as much as it did me! It was truly an honor to have the opportunity to tell their stories.

This month, we also get to introduce you to the contestants for the 2017 Stars of Style Gala. Acadiana LifeStyle has had a long and incredible relationship with Stars of Style, and we take so much joy in being the ones to introduce them to the community. This intro is more of an informal handshake, but July’s issue will be a full-on hug. So stick around. Until then, head over to Page 22 and learn how to vote for your favorite contestants.
