YOUNGSVILLE — A Jeanerette man has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit first degree murder, attempted aggravated kidnapping and four counts of video voyeurism in relation to an incident that took place in Youngsville.

According to a prepared statement from the Youngsville Police Department, the department received a complaint of a suspicious white male in the Sugar Mill Pond subdivision attempting to make contact with juvenile females in the subdivision. Patrol Officers from the Youngsville Police Department responded to the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. Minutes later, the Youngsville Police Department received another complaint of a person fitting the same description of the suspicious white male that was in Sugar Mill Pond, now at the Six Pack convenience store in Youngsville, attempting to make contact with juvenile females at that location. Again, patrol officers responded to that location and prior to officers’ arrival, the suspect had fled the scene.

Investigators with the YPD conducted a follow up investigation on the information which was obtained by the preliminary investigation conducted by the Patrol Division. During the investigation, a positive identification of the suspect’s vehicle was made, which led to the registered owner, which subsequently led investigators to the suspect who was operating the vehicle.

The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Montana Kelle Doise, of the 7500 block of Old Spanish Trail in Jeanerette. According to the release, investigators conducted a detailed and thorough investigation into the activities of Doise. During the course of the investigation, YPD investigators, along with the assistance of Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Department investigators were able to collect evidence to substantiate probable cause to obtain a search warrant for more evidence, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Doise. The warrant of arrest was signed by a judge in the 15th Judicial District.

After a long lengthy investigation, Doise has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit first degree murder, attempted aggravated kidnapping and four counts of video voyeurism. Doise’s bond has been set at $205,000.

At the time of Mr. Doise’s arrest by the YPD, he was incarcerated in the Iberia Parish Correctional Facility on the charge of unauthorized use of a moveable, which is related to the case in Youngsville. Once his matters are cleared up in Iberia Parish, Doise  will be transferred to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and booked in on the aforementioned charges.

This investigation is ongoing, as investigators are attempting to positively identify a possible female accomplice who may have assisted Doise in the commission of the crimes he has been charged with.
