Funeral services will be celebrated for Shane Patrick Henry, 42, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017, at Holy Family Chapel. Rev. David Denton will officiate the services. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday until service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Henry passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017, at Iberia Medical Center.
Born on December 25, 1974, to Randell Henry Sr. and the late Donna Romero Henry, Shane was one of three children. He loved his family and extended family very much. Shane always enjoyed being around family, friends and good company. He was a great cook and liked to share his cooking with everyone. Shane enjoyed the simple life of country living. His favorite past time was sitting on the porch and throwing back a few drinks.
A loving son, brother and friend to many, Shane will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his father, Randell Henry Sr. of New Iberia; step parents, Murphy Gary Sr. and Mona Byford of New Iberia; brothers Randell Henry Jr. of New Iberia and Murphy Gary Jr. and wife, Holly, of New Iberia; sisters Laci Simon and husband, Kevin Jr., of Youngsville, Linzi Louviere of Youngsville, Sierra Morvant and husband, Brandon, of New Iberia and Angel Breaux and husband, Johnathon, of Youngsville; aunt Rosetta Touchet and husband, Edward Sr., of New Iberia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Romero Henry; maternal grandmother, Florence Schaubert; paternal grandparents, Henry and Laura Henry; aunt Laura Horne; and cousin Ginger Vaughn.
Pallbearers will be Randy Henry, Jake Henry, Terrell “Snap” Louviere, Brayton Gary, Kevin Simon and Barry Bouillion.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gunner Breaux and Murphy Gary Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray the cost of funeral expenses.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Iberia Medical center and the staff of Heart of Hospice for their support and kindness.
