A Memorial Service will be held for Christopher Joseph Charles, 57 at 12 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home in New Iberia, with the Rev. Adam Curley, officiating.

Interment will be private.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service. A native of New Iberia, he passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2:15 p.m. Charles leaves to cherish his memory his only child, Isreal “Dimp” Gilliam (Tomika) of New Iberia; his significant other, Hilda Narcisse of New Iberia; his Mother, Sara Charles of New Iberia; his sister Pearly Boatwright of Las Vegas, Nevada; two special aunts, Brenda Raymond and Annie May Charles of New Iberia; a dear uncle, Willie Provost of New Iberia; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephew’s other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Anthony Charles; his father, Phillip Charles; paternal grandparents: Phillip Charles, Sr. and Cora Charles; Maternal grandparents: Cloumbu Morton and Dorothy Morton; Step-Grandmother Thelma Sanders.
