A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Rodney Anthony Cormier, 84, who passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017, in New Iberia.

Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

A native of Cecilia and a longtime resident of New Iberia, Rodney Anthony Cormier was born on November 9, 1932, to the late Adelma and Jeanne Begnaud Cormier. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Rodney was a retired auto mechanic, having worked for Musson-Patout and Laperouse Motors.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Bailey Cormier; grandchildren Copper Cormier, Benjamin Cormier; and great-grandchildren Devin Cormier and Blake Cormier.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Craig Cormier; and several brothers and sisters.
