A Home-going celebration will be held for Mr. Oliver John “Dugas” Dugas Sr., 70, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Fletcher Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Collins officiating.
He will await the resurrection in Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation will held on Saturday at the funeral home at 8 a.m. until time of services.
A native and resident of New Iberia, “Dugas,” as he was affectionately known, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 3:20 p.m. at Iberia Manor South.
“Dugas” leaves to cherish his memory, his fiancée Peggy Fontenot of New Iberia; three sons Albert Jacquet and Gregory Jones both of Baton Rouge and Oliver John Dugas Jr. of Houston, Texas; two daughters Danielle Dugas, (Kenneth Derouen), of New Iberia and Luciana Dugas of Houston, Texas; five brothers Sammy Raymond and Kenneth Raymond both of New Iberia, Early Bray, (Dedra), of Port Arthur, Texas, Darryl Raymond, (Lynnora), of Scott and Frazier Raymond, (Robin), of Portland, Oregon; one sister Dorothy Hornbeak, (Albert), of Port Arthur, Texas; his best friend of 65 plus years Joseph Collins; his long time friend Ms. Pat of Lake Charles; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Oliver is preceded in death by his his former wife, Antonia Marie Dugas; his parents, Clarence Dugas and Mabel Jules; four brothers Calvin and Alvin Dugas and Thomas and Donald Raymond; and his maternal grandmother, Lucille Celestine.
Active pallbearers will be Gregory Jones Jr., Oliver Dugas Jr., Albert Jacquet Jr., Bryson Dugas, Anthony Dugas and Tracy Derouen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gregory Jones Sr., Roshan Dugas Sr., Clarence Dugas, David Dugas, Calvin Dugas, Karl Dugas, Miles, Joseph, Joseph Collins, Craig Jacquet, Devonte Dugas Sr., Devante Dugas Jr., Rogers Dugas and Kenneth Derouen.
