Rideaux sworn in as acting registrar of voters

Iberia Parish Registrar of Voters Chief Deputy Frankie Rideaux was sworn in Thursday as acting registrar following the retirement of Mildred Adams.
Adams announced her retirement last week after more than 30 years of service. Thursday was her first official day of retirement.

Rideaux has worked at the Iberia Parish Registrar of Voters office since 1998. She served as chief deputy for three years and has applied to become the permanent registrar.
Rideaux will be overseeing the upcoming Nov. 18 election and early voting in Iberia Parish
The deadline to apply for the registrar position is today. After reviewing applications, the Iberia Parish Council will appoint a new registrar.
