A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Herman Derouen, the former Nina Hebert, 92, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Pastor David Denton officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday at 8 a.m. until the service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Derouen passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Belle Teche Nursing Home.

Nina was a homemaker devoted to the love and care of her family. Her most precious moments were those spent with her family no matter the occasion. Some of her favorite pastimes included playing bingo, taking trips to the casino and eating Hershey Kisses. She had a love of everything Elvis Presley and liked to show off her impressive collection of Elvis memorabilia. Nina also enjoyed traveling and was lucky enough to visit nearly all of the states. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving daughters Carmen Doyal and husband Robert of Kingwood, Texas, Arleen Greene and husband Perry of Shreveport and Fay Condra and husband Dennis of New Iberia; brothers Roland Hebert of New Iberia, Harold Hebert and wife Joyce of Scott and Arves Hebert and wife Ann of Loreauville; sisters Vivian Derouen, Janell Justilien and Beverly Louviere and husband Leonard, all of New Iberia; grandchildren Brandy Drake, Ryan Doyal, Jennifer Russell, Christina Guillotte, Linsey Garcia, Brady LeBlanc, Blair Condra and Jenae Condra Williams; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Derouen; parents, Joseph and Beulah Dartez Hebert; sisters Kinta Desoto and Stella Dore; sister-in-law Wilda Hebert; and brother-in-law Billy Derouen.

Pallbearers will be Robert Doyal, Dennis Condra, Perry Greene, Ryan Doyal, Blair Condra and Brady LeBlanc.

Honorary pallbearer will be Kodey Garcia.
