- Mrs. James Paul McVicker
Alaina Mary Muffoletto and James Paul McVicker were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Iberia Friday, November 17, 2017. The Rev. Alexander Albert officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Cynthia Sherville-Muffoletto of Jeanerette and the late George Muffoletto. The groom is the son of David and Tina McVicker of Lacassine.
Escorted by her brother, Chief Warrant Officer Fernand Paul Muffoletto, the bride wore a classic champagne-colored lace gown by Allure Bridals. Crystal beading accentuated the empire waistline with showcasing cap sleeves and an A-line silhouette. A scalloped illusion V-neckline topped the sweetheart bodice and mirrored the scalloped illusion V-back featuring covered button closure. The skirt and chapel length train was finished in a scalloped lace border hemline.
For her bouquet, the bride carried lush natural stem garden bouquet of O’Hara roses, silver dollar and seeded eucalyptus and ruscus, tied with champagne satin wrap. Tucked in her bouquet was her grandmother’s rosary and a charm holding her late father’s picture. In memory of the bride’s father, a blue heart made from one of his shirts was sewn on the inside of the gown.
Serving as matron of honor was Brenda Hebert. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth McVicker, sister of the groom, Ashley Vlahogeorge and Lacie Constance. Gabriella Muffoletto, godchild of the bride, served as a junior bridesmaid. Serving as flower girl was Ava Marie Landry, niece of the bride.
Serving as best man was Brody Gotreaux. Groomsmen were Chad Goss, Skyler Verret and Kinney Maybery. Noah Michael Landry, nephew of the bride, served as the ring bearer. Allen DeRouen served as usher.
The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Yellow Bowl in Jeanerette the evening before the wedding. Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held for family and friends at the Gouguenheim in New Iberia.
After returning from a Disney honeymoon, the couple will reside in Lake Charles.
