The New Iberia City Council will introduce and ratify Todd D’Albor as chief of the New Iberia Police Department at its regular monthly meeting tonight.
The city published an advertisement to fill that position in the city’s journal and on its website beginning Nov. 5 and accepted applications until 4:30 p.m. Nov. 15. The city said D’Albor’s was the only application submitted with the appropriate qualifications.
The City Council also will have a public hearing on a budget for several budget amendment ordinances, including one to fund several city police department positions and a police records and archives storage site until sales tax receipts come in.
Also on the council’s agenda is a resolution in support of a grant application to the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for funding assistance in implementing a marine sanitation facility project, plus a resolution committing additional local funds for the “Armenco Drainage Pump Station Generator Addition” project.
The City Council will meet at City Hall today at 5:30 p.m.
