ESA wins AES Tourney

YOUNGSVILLE — Tucker Arkin lead a trio of ESA players in double-figures as the Falcons beat the Delcambre Panthers 57-40 in the finals of the Ascension Episcopal Tournament Wednesday.
Arkin had 19 points, Mark Dibbs added 13 and Danny Ahluwalia chipped in 10 for ESA, which trailed 12-10 at the end of the first quarter then outscored Delcambre 34-13 over the second and third quarters to take control of the game.
Dravyn Guilbeau led Delcambre with 17 points and Nathan Readus added eight for the Panthers.
ESA (5-5) returns to action Monday when it plays host to Vermilion Catholic. Delcambre (2-1) plays in the Erath Tournament starting Wednesday.
Centerville 74, Westminster Christian 49
YOUNGSVILLE — Jaylon Williams exploded for 30 points as Centerville claimed third place in the Ascension Episcopal Tournament with a 74-49 win over the Crusaders Wednesday.
Ryan Young added nine points and Marquis Strawder had eight points for the Bulldgos, who blew open the game in the second half when they outscored WCA 44-29.
Braylan Henry led WCA (2-2) with 20 points and Princeton Malhrue added 16 for Crusaders.
Centerville (2-1) travels to Central Lafourche Tuesday.
Berwick 87, Erath 31
YOUNGSVILLE — Travis Whitehead had 26 points as Berwick blew past Erath 87-31 Wednesday in the Ascension Episcopal Tournament.
Josh Carver finished with 16 points and Tavaris Howard added 13 for the Panthers (1-2) who jumpd out to a 16-8 first quarter lead and never looked back.
Quincy Green led EHS (1-4) with nine points, Williams LeBlanc added eight points and Trevor Guidry had seven points.
Erath will play host to its own tournament starting Wednesday with Catholic High, Delcambre, ESA. Highland Baptist and Loreauville participating.
