A Memorial service will be held for the late Perry Lee Hector at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at The Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in New Iberia, with Pastor Bradley Fulgence officiating.

A resident of Beaumont, Perry Lee Hector, 67, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017, at his home.

Perry Lee Hector was called from Earth to his eternal resting place following a lengthy illness on Monday, November 13, 2017. Perry was born July 30, 1950, in New Iberia. He was affectionately known by many as “Uncle P.”

He leaves in God’s care his son Larry Lockwood (Lissette) of Metuchen, New Jersey; two sisters Ora Dell Hector-Durand of New Iberia and Delores H. Eddie-Charles (Ronald) of New Iberia; three brothers Melvert J. Hector Sr. and Ronald P. Hector of Houston, Texas and Freddie C. Hector (Jannette) of Lake Charles; three uncles Albert “Sonny” August Jr. of New Iberia, Rev. C. M. Jenkins and Mr. Henry Lazenby of Orange, Texas; goddaughter Keiosha Hector of New Iberia; and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Corneilus C. and Irene Jackson Hector Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Albert and Martha C. August Sr.; and four siblings Lionel, Shirley, Leo J. Hector Sr. and Mable H. Watson.

Perry was a member of the Sunlight Society.

Broussard Mortuary in Beaumont, Texas and Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia are in charge of the arrangements.
