RYNELLA – Funeral services celebrating the life of Beulah C. “Bea” Lopez will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at Evangeline Funeral Home. Deacon Theo Landry will officiate. Mrs. Bea will be laid to rest alongside her husband at St. Marcellus Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday from 12 p.m. until time of services.
Bea was born July 19, 1930, in Youngsville to the late Eddie Champagne and the late Edia Decou Champagne. She passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 02, 2017, at her niece’s residence. She was 87.
Mrs. Bea was a homemaker but worked with Abdalla’s in New Iberia for over ten years. Over the years, Mrs. Bea cared for and raised many dogs that she loved dearly. Her other joy was tending to the many beautiful rose bushes around her house. She leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her niece and her husband, Tina Lopez and Gerald (whom Bea looked upon as her own children); her brother, Harry G. Champagne of Pensacola, Florida; Rosa Mae Adams and Leslie Champagne, who Bea looked upon as her sister and brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lopez; a brother and sister, Curley Champagne and Rena Louviere Heflin; and two nephews, Danny and Todd Louviere.
Members of the family will serve as pallbearers.
In keeping with Mrs. Bea’s wishes, memorial contributions are requested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Bridgeway Hospice, 2014 W. Pinhook Rd., Lafayette, LA 70508.
