Mary Lou was born September 1, 1930, in the community of Church Point, to the late Eugene Jagneaux and Odile Carriere Jagneaux. She passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Landmark of Acadiana, with her family at her side. She was 87.

Mary was a mother and homemaker for her five children and the matriarch of her extended family. Mary loved the large family gatherings for birthdays and holidays. Some of the simple things in life that she enjoyed most were reading the greeting cards from her family, hosting Friday night suppers and three o’clock coffee visits. Mary loved French music and was a great dancer, as was her husband Ercy, and they enjoyed many great times with her “Church Point family and friends” dancing and laughing. Repainting her rooms, rearranging her “parade” decorations and working in her yard will be things that her family will remember her by and will generate some good laughs for future generations. Mary will be missed but not forgotten.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth J. LeBlanc and Paula, Debbie L. Armentor and Eric, Jackie L. Meyers and Kenneth, Phyllis L. Falgout, and Mark A. LeBlanc and Jamie; 14 grandchildren, Brandi LeBlanc, Mike Armentor, Jake Armentor, Nicholas LeBlanc, Lance Meyers, Nikki Hawkins, Sarah Romero, Trent Falgout, Amanda Feske, Alex Meyers, Casey LeBlanc, Lani Olivier, Grant Falgout and Carlie Granger; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and her sisters, Eula Mae Doucet and Grace Labbe.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ercy LeBlanc.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Armentor, Jake Armentor, Nicholas LeBlanc, Lance Meyers, Trent Falgout, Grant Falgout and Casey LeBlanc.

The family would like to thank all who assisted in Mary’s care, including the staffs of Lourdes Hospital, Landmark of Acadiana, and Bridgeway Hospice for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank her coffee friends, especially Cheryl Schultz, her longtime neighbor and dear friend.
