Shooting victims go to hospital on their own

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday night.
IPSO deputies responded to a report of shots fired at the intersection of Lombard and South Hopkins streets, according to IPSO spokesman Maj. Wendell Raborn. The deputies found multiple rifle casings on Lombard Street but no victims or victims at the scene, he said.

However, two 40-year-old black men later arrived at Iberia Medical Center with minor injuries related to the shooting, the report said. Neither victim gave any information that could identify the shooter, and both men were released from the hospital that evening.
Lt. Robert Moore with the IPSO said Saturday the case is under investigation. No new information has been released by the department since Thursday, he said.
