- Acadiana rolls past Delcambre High girls at Yuletide Classic
ABBEVILLE — Triniti Adams and Damika Mouton each had 16 points as Acadiana High School rolled out to a 21-2 first quarter lead and cruised to a 63-16 win over Delcambre High School in the first round of the Vermilion Catholic Yuletide Classic Wednesday.
Three players scored 8 points each for the Lady Wildcats, who led 29-11 at halftime and 54-16 at the end of the third quarter and held DHS scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Ali Rae Falgout led Delcambre with 6 points and Chloe Leblanc and Karlie Crochet each had 4 points for the Lady Panthers, who will play Loreauville today at 1 p.m. in the girls consolation bracket.
North Vermilion 51, Loreauville 13
Kaylee Lopez had 14 points and single-handedly outscored the entire Loreauville team as North Vermilion beat Loreauville in the VCHS Yuletide Classic Wednesday.
Alaina Dartez added 8 points for the Lady Patriots, who jumped out to a 20-5 first quarter lead and held Loreauville scoreless in the second quarter.
Emma Chambers led LHS with 8 points.
Boys
Marksville 79, Erath 27
Ian Lee had 14 points and Dominick Desselle, Daymond Bradford and Marcell Wright each had 10 points as Marksville blew past Erath in the opening round of the VC Yuletide Classic Wednesday.
Seven other players had at least 3 points for Marksville in the rout.
Erath was led by Curtis Cormier with 14 points.
EHS plays the loser of today’s game between Covenant Christian and West St. Mary Friday at 11 a.m.
