DUSON — A Communion service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, for Jewel Robicheaux Dupont, 80, who passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Carpenter House in Lafayette with her family at her side.

Entombment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Mausoleum. Deacon Cliff Tanner will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, James “Cap” Dale Dupont Sr.; her children Charisse Prescott and husband, Keith, and Chadd Richard and wife, Christie; her step children Mary Abshire and husband, Billy, and Anne Schultz and husband, Karl; her brother Lanny Robicheaux and wife, Cheryl; ten grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Maude Robicheaux; her son Kevin Richard; and her brother Errol Robicheaux.

A native of Franklin, Jewel was a graduate of Franklin High School where she was the Drum Major of the school marching band. She held various positions in her career, mostly as an office administrator. She enjoyed traveling, which she and her husband has done extensively for the past several years. Jewel will best be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother and for her quick wit and humor. When you were in Jewel’s presence, you would be laughing and she was a “jewel” to be around. She will be deeply missed.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille’s Scott location on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until time of the service.

A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Dupont family to the staff of the Carpenter House for their loving support and compassion during Jewel’s stay there.
