Hackmany “Kim” Kongphongmany

A funeral service for Hackmany “Kim” Kongphongmany, 52, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Fletcher Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 6, 2018, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and resume at the funeral home on Sunday from 11 a.m. until time of service. 

Immediately following the funeral service, a processional of family and friends will travel to Southwest Louisiana Crematory on Trotter Street in New Iberia for the cremation service. 

A gathering of family and friends for the repass will be held on Sunday after both services at 1815 Marigold Drive in New Iberia. 

A resident of New Iberia, Kim was born in Vientiane, Laos and came to the United States with her parents and siblings in 1979. She attended New Iberia Senior High School to further her education and worked at Martin Mills until closure of the company. She assisted with her family’s businesses, Kheam’s Seafood and K & K Tire Services. Kim wanted to continue the legacy of her family’s businesses, so she worked closely with them and it became her passion in addition to cooking, shopping, gardening and her tending to her fur babies.

She passed at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Iberia Medical Center. 

She is survived by her daughter April Kongphongmany; her mother Phoykham Kongphongmany; her four sisters Nouansy Kongphongmany, Susie Thongsavath (Keith), Sue Rattanasena (John) and Phylavanh Khambounphet (Boun); two brothers Chan Kongphongmany (Nouphay) and Bounmy Kongphongmany (Thi Loan); and four fur babies Toby, Diamond, Mimi and Katy. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Khambane Kongphongmany. 

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Home, 609 West Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, LA 70560.
