Adejia Paul was born on August 28, 1966, in Olivier. As a teenager, Adejia Paul served as a Children’s Religious Education (CCD) class assistant and lecturer at St. Edward Roman Catholic Church. He was a speech and debate champion and honors graduate of New Iberia Senior High School (Class of 1984), and he was a familiar face at the New Iberia Parish Library where he often worked with his mother, Lorenza Marie Boutté. Following high school, he commenced an academic journey towards a legal degree at LSU. In 1986, two years onto this path, he was driven to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

From the 1980s–1990s, Adejia Paul followed his wife, Windell, in hot pursuit and ultimately married the love of his life on July 14, 1990. They lived in California until Windell finished medical school. Thereafter, they moved to Georgia where their story bore legs of love, service to others and three magnificent young men.

Adejia Paul will be most remembered for his infectious laugh and love for hosting friends with his awesome Creole cuisines. Father, husband, tireless worker, chef, athlete, coach, musician, business manager, mentor and friend, his passion came only second to the love of his wife and children, all of whom gave him purpose as a father, a husband and a friend to many.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 27 years, Dr. Windell Catherine Davis Boutté; sons Adejia Paul “D.J.” Boutté Jr., Devan Christopher Boutté and Daniel Jordan Boutté, of Stone Mountain, Georgia; his father, Frank Williams of Shreveport; sisters De’Edra S. Williams of Dallas, Felicia Williams of Shreveport and Adrejia LaJoy Ann Boutté Swafford of Baton Rouge; uncles Russell Boutté (Fabiola) of Jeanerette; Jonas Haney of Baton Rouge; and Tyrone Hatter (Joy) of Stone Mountain, Georgia; and aunts Rev.
