JEANERETTE — A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for JoAnn Trupiano LeJeune, 80, who passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018, in Lafayette. 

A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. A Rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the celebrant. Entombment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.

A resident of Jeanerette, JoAnn Catherine Trupiano was born in New Orleans on November 25, 1937, to the late Joseph Thomas Trupiano and Elodie Catherine Laborde Trupiano. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Grammar School and Dominican High School, then graduated from Soule Business College. She worked in data processing and oversaw the Outpatient Department at Iberia Medical Center for over 15 years. JoAnn was an excellent cook and loved family gatherings. She enjoyed playing Bridge at Cooper Street with some very dear friends, painting and crafts, crocheting, gardening and playing the accordion. She was a past choir member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was also a member of Jeanerette Garden Club and volunteered for many years at St. Joseph Catholic School. JoAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed. Her nieces, nephews and godchildren held a very special place in her life and will remain in her heart. 

Mrs. LeJeune is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Berwick “Buck” F. LeJeune Jr.; sons Bryan LeJeune and wife, Tessie A. LeJeune, Joseph T. LeJeune and wife, Stephanie B. LeJeune, Berwick “Ricky” J. LeJeune III and wife, Chrystal, all of Jeanerette; daughter Jolie L. Myers Russell and husband, Fred E. Russell, of Lakeland, Florida; sister Brenda T. Ordoyne of Madisonville; grandchildren Brandi LeJeune Mendoza and husband, Mannie Mendoza, Heather Marie LeJeune and companion Trent Derouen, Heidi E. LeJeune, Ashlie M. Spiker and husband, Heath Spiker, Landon Scott Myers and wife, Candice, Max Andrew Myers and companion Nancy Trahan, Annie Pritchard and husband, Michael, Amanda Russell, Alison N. LaGarde and husband, Derrick LaGarde, Lyndi M. Ham and husband, Joey Ham, Gabriel Parro, Berwick “Luke” J. LeJeune IV, Lexi Langlinais and Logan Langlinais; 15 great-grandchildren; and very special cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Trupiano; a brother-in-law William K. Ordoyne Sr.; mother-in-law and father-in-law Thelma Guilotte LeJeune and Berwick F. LeJeune Sr.; son-in-law Craig P. Myers; and a sister-in-law Marjorie Landry LeJeune. 

Pallbearers will be Max Andrew Myers, Gabriel Parro, Heath Spiker, Mason Mendoza, Joey Ham and Derrick LaGarde.

Honorary pallbearers are Landon Scott Myers, Berwick “Luke” J. LeJeune IV, Logan Langlinais, Mannie Mendoza, William K. Ordoyne Jr., Kirk Ordoyne, Denny LeJeune, Jeff LeJeune and Trent Derouen.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. James B. Falterman Jr. and Dr. Reece, the many physicians and nurses at Lafayette General Medical Center and to her sitters Velma, Alice, Tanya, Cyd, Monica, Cynthia, Dina and Carolyn for excellent care.
