A Celebration of Life Service for Mark Clyde Dixon will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at 6 p.m. at Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Baldwin.
Mark’s earthly vessel will be lying in repose Sunday, January 21, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Greater New Hope Baptist Church Monday and January 22, 2018, 9a.m. to 11 a.m. at Greater New Hope Baptist Church.
Dismissal Service will be Monday, January 22, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Greater New Hope Baptist Church.
He will be interred in Sacred Heart Church Mausoleum, Baldwin.
Mark Clyde Dixon, affectionately known as “Dixon” was born the first child of five children to Robert Bowser Sr. and Dolly Dixon on February 6, 1963, in Lafayette.
“Dixon” was employed at MK DIXON Funeral Home as a Funeral Director Liaison. His role was a vital part of the MK Dixon Funeral Home brand. He was noted for being the first to arrive and the last to leave, making sure the vision of MK Dixon Funeral Home was carried out with a spirit of excellence and love.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Mary and Edwin Dixon; paternal grandparents: Robert Bowser Sr. and Alice and Mathew Colbert Sr.; aunts and uncles, Rosalie Connor, Berniece Burney, Cecile Dixon, Leroy Jenkins, Martha Bowser, Audrey Bowser, Zonia Williams, Oralita Montgomery, Mary Montgomery, Timothy Bowser, Matthew Colbert Jr., Leroy Colbert and John Montgomery.
“Dixon’s” legacy will live on in the hearts of his family which includes his mother and father Dolly Dixon and Robert Bowser Jr. of Baldwin;his fiancée, Detria Edmond of Charenton; one daughter,Taylor Dixon of Charenton; three sons, Solomon Freking of LeMar, Trevel Dixon of Baldwin, and Marquall Dixon (Kizzy) of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Maddix Dixon, Briley Dixon, and Miesha Brooks; one brother, Michael Bowser (Kaye) of Baldwin; three sisters, Cheryl Lynn Robinson (John) and Monica Wells (Gene) both of Franklin, and Tracy Jack (Vernon) of Dallas, Texas.
He is also survived by, his former wife, Paula Lewis Callery; Baldwin; one stepdaughter, Anissa Eugene, Charenton; maternal and paternal aunts and uncles; Charlie Martin, Franklin; Agnes Brown, Kansas City, Kansas; Mary (Henry) Martin, New Orleans; Mary Jenkins, Baldwin; Sherry Ann Martin, Baldwin; Lillie Mary (Oliver) Sterling, Houston Texas; Charles Ray (Phyllis) Colbert, San Antonio,Texas; Irma Montgomery, Houston, Texas; Dwight (Orelia) Bowser Sr., Houston, Texas; Rebecca (Donald) Newman, Joseph (Lillian) Bowser Sr., James (Mary) Bowser, Cheryl (Ronnie) Shilo all of Beaumont, Texas; four godchildren, Tamaria Hawkins, Kimberly Charles and Akeem Jackson and Chazyman Harris; one godsister, Chantel Conner-Allen, a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, all of whom he shared a unique bond with.
