Funeral services will be conducted for Aubrey Joseph LeBlanc Sr., age 81, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Fr. Ed Degeyter will officiate. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday until service time.
A native of Breaux Bridge and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. LeBlanc passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Born on December 27, 1936 to the late Bernard and Eunice LeBlanc, Aubrey was one of five children.
He was a kind and generous man who freely gave his time to helping others. Aubrey was known as a gentle giant and always had a smile on his face. He loved to drive and be on the road for hours at a time, it didn’t matter the destination. Aubrey was a fan of zydeco music, western movies, and anything football. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Romero LeBlanc; children, Aubrey LeBlanc Jr. and wife Kim of Jennings, Christie Doucet and husband Russell of Lewisville, Texas, and Stacey LeBlanc of Phoenix, Arizona; stepchildren, Joseph Dressel and wife Carla of New Iberia, Johnny Dressel and wife Pamela of New Iberia, Mark Dressel and wife Robyn of New Iberia, and Lorenza Hanvy and husband Tommy of Columbia, Tennessee; siblings, Terry LeBlanc and wife Betty, Joyce Bertrand, and Lille Nell LeBlanc all of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Eli Robin, Caitlin Doucet, Benjamin LeBlanc, Adam LeBlanc, David LeBlanc, and Jonathan LeBlanc; step-grandchildren, Jenna Dressel, Gipsie Dressel, Nancy Delahoussaye, Nakia Easter, Ashley Castro, Kali Shoalmier, Lyle Dressel, Lacy Dressel, and Crystal Plataka; and numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Bessie Lasseigne LeBlanc; parents, Bernard and Eunice Castille LeBlanc; daughter-in- law, Brandy LeBlanc; and sister, Lucille Dupre.
