A man was shot in the leg and abdomen Tuesday night, according to Maj. Wendell Raborn, spokesman for the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

At 6:50 p.m., IPSO deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Shelton Avenue. They found the victim, who was taken to a Lafayette hospital, where he was reported in guarded condition, Raborn said in a prepared statement released at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday.
