Royal Order of Eden celebrates its 11th anniversary
paying homage to Ireland and its “celtic legend”
Hampton Inn in New Iberia was the venue Saturday evening when Iberia Parish’s longest running women’s Krewe, Royal Order of Eden, celebrated it 11th anniversary. The theme of the evening’s gala was “Celtic Legend” as the Sisterhood paid homage to Ireland and its fierce, noble, female Celtic warriors.
The Krewe’s co-Captains, Roxanne Perez Castille and Corleen Aucoin Rouly, respectively representing the Pirate Queen Grace O’Malley and the legendary, ageless Boudicca, to lead the evening’s festivities.

Serving as Her Majesty, Queen Eve the Eleventh, Leader of the Women Warriors, was Devan Gary Richard. Richard is a 2007 University of Louisiana at Lafayette graduate of science who certified in teaching kindergarten through third grade. She has been in the classroom for ten years and is currently a kindergarten teacher at Johnston-Hopkins Elementary.
Richard has been a member of Royal Order of Eden since its inception. She is an alumnus of New Iberia Senior High and calls Iberia Parish home. She is the wife of Adam Richard and the daughter of Craig and Dina Pellerin Mayard, the later also a Krewe member.
King Adam the Eleventh, Protector of Justice and the Celtic Way, was Dr. Matthew B. Brady. Brady is a 2012 graduate of LSU School of Dentistry, 2007 graduate in biology and chemistry from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and 2003 Catholic High of New Iberia graduate where he was named Mr. CHS in his senior year.
Brady is currently in general dentistry practice in New Iberia. Proficient in karate, Brady received his black belt in his youth and qualified not only for regional and national tournaments, but also Junior Olympics. He is an avid fan of music, guitar and cooking, and is a die-hard Star Wars fan. Born in Lake Charles to David Brady and the late, Josi Andrus Brady. He is married to Erin Boatman Brady and they are parents to Jackson Edward
and Josi Leigh.
Continuing to honor female Celtic warriors were the Maids of Eden. Representing Constance Gore Booth, the Countess Markeiwicz, was Krewe member Anita Rouly Lantier. Representing Maud Gonne, the founder of The Daughters of Ireland, was Krewe member Christina Blair Hulin. Krewe member Jensi Rae Istre represented Betsy Gray, a peasant girl from Lisburn in County Antrim. Istre is sister to the Queen.
Serving as pages to their Royal Majesties were Jackson Edward Brady, son of King Adam and Erin Boatman Brady, Amelie Clair Boatman, daughter of Sarah and Dustin Boatman, Addison Leigh Eskind, daughter of Katie and Brodie Eskind, Kynleigh Claire and Paisley Kaye Vaughn, the daughters of Kyli and Cody Vaughn.
Lyla Elizabeth Boatman, the 13-year-old daughter of Sarah and Dustin Boatman, served as the krewe’s first Tea Rose to the Court. Ladies-in-Waiting to Her Majesty the Queen were Anya Simone Berry and Kaitlyn Ann Poursine.
Berry was the first page for the krewe in 2008. She is a junior at New Iberia Senior High enrolled in honors and gifted classes. She is a student of dance and has been in several local musical productions. She attends Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and is an alter server and a member of the 5-1-9 Program. Her plans are to complete her undergraduate work at either ULL or LSU and then attend LSU Medical to specialize in dermatology. She is the 16-year-old daughter of Heath and Christina Blair Hulin.
Poursine is a junior at Bonnabel Magnet Academy in Kenner. The fun-loving sixteen year old is the goddaughter of Noel and John Bertucci. Poursine enjoys music and spending time with her friends. She has been involved in cheerleading and volunteering with the children’s program at Vineyard Church. She plans to attend LSU with a focus on science, technology, engineering and math curriculum.
