MARKSVILLE — A New Iberia native won more than $100,000 last week while playing the slots at Paragon Casino Resort’s 64,000-square-foot gaming floor. 

Darlene Vaughn of Loreauville enjoyed a big payday on the Select Buffalo slot machine, one of Paragon’s 1,300 slot machines. 

“I thought it was not real,” Vaughn said in a prepared statement from Paragon. 

Vaughn visits Paragon about twice a month to play the slot machines and enjoy the casino, according to the statement. 

“While she does not yet know what to do with her winnings, she plans to continue visiting Paragon to continue raising the stakes,” a casino spokesman said.
