JEANERETTE — The Jeanerette Police Department is currently searching for a man wanted for attempted second degree murder. 

Javontra Richard, 20, is wanted for an incident that occurred in the Hubertville area of Jeanerette in December. The incident is unrelated to the recent Mardi Gras shooting that occurred Sunday. 

Richard is considered armed and dangerous. If whereabouts are known please notify detectives at 276-6323.
