Funeral services will be celebrated for Mrs. Whitney A. LeBlanc, the former Barbara Jean Derouen, at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Evangeline Funeral Home. Fr. Keith Landry, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will officiate. Mrs. LeBlanc will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum immediately after services.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Friday from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Visiting hours will resume on Saturday from 8 a.m. until services.

Barbara was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia. She passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her two daughters Suzanne Prince and husband, Brian, and Donna Cassisa and husband, Vincent; her three stepchildren Roger LeBlanc and wife, Susan, Reynold LeBlanc and wife, Margaret and Sheryl Mayer and husband, Carl. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren Thadd, Brock, Ryan, Jonathan, Jennifer, Kelly, Francis, Carl, Korie, Randy and Stacey; 17 great-grandchildren; and her sisters Patricia Romero and Carolyn Romero of New Iberia and Janelle Ray and husband, James “Corky” Ray, of St. Martinville.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Agnes Derouen; and by her husband, Whitney A. LeBlanc.

Serving as pallbearers are Thadd, Brock and Ryan Prince, Jonathan Dorsey, Roger LeBlanc, Damon Suire and Kim Romero.
