Memorial services will be held at a later date for Betty Simon Walker, 66, of New Iberia. The memorial service will be held at Holy Family Cemetery on Curtis Lane in New Iberia.

Betty was born in Lafayette on October 25, 1951. She passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Iberia Medical Center.

Betty was a lifelong resident of New Iberia. She loved to visit with friends and attend family gatherings. She loved to babysit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty enjoyed eating seafood especially crabs and crawfish.

She left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter Kyla Simon (Dexter) of New Iberia; two sons Edward Simon Sr. (Amanda) of New Iberia and Linus Simon (Erica) of New Iberia; a sister Francis Jackson (Gilbert) of New Iberia; two brothers Billy Simon (Barbara) of New Iberia and Giles Simon Jr. of New Iberia; seven grandchildren Marquisha Alexis (Kourtney), Quentin Thompson Jr., Quen’Niese M. Simon, Quentci A. Thompson, Edward Simon Jr., Pryce D. Simon, and Torryiana Willis; great-grandchildren Malya Gabriel and Kourtlynn Alexis.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Giles Simon Sr. and Emilie Suire Simon; and two sisters Alta Louise Simon and Gayle Simon.
