A funeral service will be held for Eddie “Eddie Bo” Williams Sr., 68 at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at First Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA with Rev. Arthur Alexander officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 9 a.m. until time of service at First Jerusalem Baptist Church.

He will be interred in Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Eddie Williams Sr. was born to the late Roger Williams Sr. and Nancy A. Williams on February 14, 1949. He transitioned from this life on February 8, 2018 at Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.

“Bo”, affectionately known by many, attended the Jeanerette School System and graduated from Francis Marion Boley High School. He was a dedicated, hard-working welder employed at various fabrication industries for many many years. He became a member of the First Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Arthur L. Alexander.

“Bo” was an entrepreneur. He was the owner of Eddie Bo’s Club, located “Back of Town” in Jeanerette. He and a group of his distinguished friends were called “The Back of Town Gang.”

“Bo” loved his family and friends, and was always ready for a great debate. You couldn’t tell him he wasn’t the best pool player in Louisiana, or maybe even the world.

He was married to Petronella Armstead and until this day, 28 years later he was still very much in love with her. His memories will forever be cherished by his loving and dedicated wife, Petronella; his two sons, Eddie Jr.(Sarah) of Lafayette, and Chad Dabney(Jade), of New Orleans; his step-son, Derek Lewis of Jeanerette; one daughter, Dr. Kilo Smith(Ronald) of Atlanta; four brothers, John Paul Williams Sr. and Charles Williams Sr. of Jeanerette, Roger Williams Jr.(Judy) of Atlanta and Michael Williams Sr. (Monique) of New Iberia; six sisters, Elva Corsey, Ethel Lee Crosby (Walter), Marion Sorrell, and Kathy Williams all of Jeanerette, and Jennifer Bums (Donald) and Viola Gilliam (Chester) of New Iberia; six grandchildren, Lindsey, Austin, Dallas, Mali, Zoe, Maci; one brother in law, Fred Armstead of Lafayette; three sisters-in-law Ruth Armstead of Baldwin, Josephine Armstead and Myrtle English, of New York, New York, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roger Sr. and Nancy A. Williams; one sister, May Fay Williams; two sisters-in-law, Linda B. Williams and Mathilda F. Williams, and a brother-in-law, James Corsey.
