BALDWIN — The Oklahoma City Police Department has arrested a man who could be connected to the 2016 death of a Baldwin woman.

On Dec. 18, 2016, a Baldwin Police Department officer found the body of 45-year-old Reynell Lockett Richard near the intersection of the U.S. 90 overpass and the Baldwin Cut. Detectives identified 51-year-old Russell Richard as a possible witness or person of interest in the case at the time, and asked for the public’s help in finding him.

Richard was arrested Wednesday by the Oklahoma City Police Department, and is awaiting extradition for a hearing in the 16th Judicial District Court. Richard has a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery.

The case is under investigation, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Traci Landry said.
