IPSB to vote on next superintendent on Wednesday

A new superintendent for Iberia Parish public schools will be named when the Iberia Parish School Board meets Wednesday evening.
There are six candidates, all from Acadiana, who are being considered for the post that current Iberia Parish Superintendent of Schools Dale Henderson will vacate after his retirement June 30.

Board members will cast their votes during the regular meeting.
Among those being considered for the position are:
• Allen Blanchard Jr., director of Human Resources for the St. Martin Parish School District,
• Patrick Cooper, CEO of Cooper Educational Services and former superintendent of Lafayette Parish School System.
• James Gray, director of School Leadership for Vermilion Parish School District.
• Carroll Michael Judice, assistant superintendent of Administration for the IPSB.

• Curt Landry, principal, New Iberia Senior High School.
• Carey Laviolette, assistant superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for IPSB.
Also planned for Wednesday meeting is a discussion of the board’s travel budget and clarification of a policy regarding per diem reimbursement for board members.
The Iberia Parish School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the administrative office at 1500 Jane St.
