The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Tuesday in connection to a homicide that occurred in 2016.
According to a prepared statement from SMSO spokeswoman Traci Landry, detectives found evidence connecting 51-year-old Russell Richard to the death of 45-year-old Reynell Lockett Richard of Baldwin.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Richard’s arrest on the charge of second degree murder. Richard remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, Landry said.
Richard was arrested last month by the Oklahoma City Police Department on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery.
