Alberta L. Malveaux

ST. MARTINVILLE — A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Alberta L. Malveaux, 82, who passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at her residence. 

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday. 

A rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Rev. Thomas James will officiate at the funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Alberta was employed in the insurance industry for many years and was an educator in St. Martin Parish School system for over 20 years.  

In the late 70’s she converted to Catholicism and joined her husband and son as a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. She was a member of the Associates of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament (ASBS), Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary – Court 54, Ladies Altar Society, Drexel Society, and the Legion of Mary. Her dedicated service and contributions to the community as a CCD teacher and a Eucharistic Minister will always be remembered as a part of her immense Catholic faith.   

She is survived by her loving husband, of 62 years Calvin Malveaux; her son Kirk W. Malveaux and wife, Denise, of Cypress, Texas; two grandchildren Morgan E. Malveaux and Krystyn M. Malveaux, of Cypress, Texas; a great-grandchild, Riley E. Malveaux of Cypress, Texas; and her brother Norris Louviere and wife, Tommiesazine, of Port Arthur, Texas. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ceanna Alexander Louviere; sisters Edna Simon, Lorena Ledet, Anita Matthews, Lera Alexander and Florence Johnson; and brothers Albert Louviere Jr., Hilary Louviere, Enos Louviere, Daniel Louviere and Felton Louviere.
