LAFAYETTE — Austin Norris’ single in the top of the eighth drove in Tyrese Morgan with the winning run as New Iberia Senior High’s new win streak reached three straight with a 6-5 District 3-5A win over Comeaux Thursday.

After the Yellow Jackets’ 11-game win streak came to an end last week with losses to Sam Houston and Westgate, NISH (14-3, 2-1 district) has run off three straight wins headed into Saturday’s district game at home against Barbe.

Max Borel had a hit and scored two runs Thursday. Morgan reached base twice on hit by pitch and scored both times; Brant Leslie had three hits, including two doubles, and scored a run; Beau Hebert added a single and a double and Norris had three singles for NISH.

Caleb Seroski pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief of Hebert for the win.
