HOUSTON — Services for Wendell Jeanlouis, 57, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St Monica Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be observed at 9 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will immediately follow.
A native of Jeanerette and resident of Houston, Mr. Jeanlouis died peacefully early Saturday morning, Mar 31, 2018, at his home. Mr. Jeanlouis was a graduate of Jeanerette Senior High, a lively athlete, participating in all sports. He then broadened his education by earning his bachelors degree at Southern University in Baton Rouge. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette prior to moving to Texas; then joined St. Monica’s Catholic Church while residing in Houston, serving as an active member of the Knights of Peter Claver, as well as other vital roles within the church parish. Mr. Jeanlouis was proudly employed with Unitrin Insurance for many years, where he truly enjoyed interacting with his clients.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Glendolyn Duhon Jeanlouis; two sons Jordan Jeanlouis and girlfriend, Johnnae Ward of Prairie View, Texas and Charles “CJ” Viney, Jr and wife, Lashawn Viney and three grandsons Donovan Viney, Dwayne Viney and Dominic Viney, all of Houston, Texas; his mother, Audrey Mae Jeanlouis; two sisters Jacqueline Jeanlouis of Jeanerette and Edie Harrison (Terry) of New Iberia; five brothers Robert Theodile Sr. (Dolly), Ronnie Jeanlouis Sr. (Almeta), Alfred Robert Jeanlouis Jr. (Jessica), all of Jeanerette, Eddie Jeanlouis Sr. (Toni) of Loreauville, and Darnell Jeanlouis (Ylondia) of Waxahachie, Texas; special friend James “Biscuit” Raymond; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, dear friends and relatives.
Mr. Jeanlouis was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Robert “Shush” Jeanlouis Sr; his maternal grandparents, Henry “Sarge” Moses Sr and Meader Mae Butler; and paternal grandparents, Bluma Johnlouis Sr and Cecile Ryes Johnlouis.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge with sincere appreciation all who gave expressions of sympathy, prayers, personal visits and acts of kindness.
